What to Expect on Your Visit

Supporting you from the very beginning

At Cracknell Chiropractic, we understand that every person and every body is different. Whether you’re new to chiropractic care or returning after a break, your first visit is designed to be a comfortable, informative experience where we take the time to listen, assess thoroughly, and explain clearly.

Warm Welcome & Patient Forms

When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by our friendly front desk team. We’ll ask you to complete some initial paperwork, which includes:

    • Your current health concerns
    • Medical history and relevant background
    • Lifestyle factors like work, stress, physical activity, and sleep

If you’d prefer, we can email these forms to you in advance to complete at home.

Comprehensive Consultation

You’ll then meet with one of our experienced chiropractors for a one-on-one consultation. This is a relaxed but in-depth conversation where we’ll:

    • Discuss your current symptoms or concerns
    • Explore your health goals and what you’d like to achieve
    • Discuss any relevant medical or chiropractic history
    • Review any previous imaging
    • Answer any questions you may have about chiropractic treatment or techniques

This step helps us fully understand your needs before beginning any hands-on assessments.

Appropriate Treatment

In most cases, we can begin treatment during your first visit—provided it’s clinically appropriate and you’re comfortable proceeding. Your chiropractor will:

    • Explain the techniques they intend to use (e.g. manual adjustments, drop piece, Activator)
    • Gain your full consent before beginning
    • Deliver care in a way that’s gentle, respectful, and tailored to your body

If further information, imaging, or referral is needed, we’ll let you know and guide you through that process.

Thorough Examination

Based on your consultation, we’ll conduct a physical examination tailored to your presentation. This may include:

    • Postural assessment – observing spinal alignment and stance
    • Range of motion testing – to identify any restrictions or imbalances
    • Orthopaedic and neurological tests – to assess nerve function, muscle tone, and joint mobility
    • Spinal palpation – using the hands to feel for areas of dysfunction, tension, or asymmetry

All assessments are done respectfully and with your comfort in mind. You’ll always be told what we’re doing and why.

Personalised Approach

Once your exam is complete, your chiropractor will explain:

    • What we found
    • What it means for your body and health
    • Which techniques are recommended and why
    • A personalised care plan, including frequency of visits and expected progression

This is a great time to ask any questions you may have—we’ll always explain things in plain language and never rush the process.

Care Plan Explained

You may be given advice on posture, stretches, activity modifications, or other simple strategies to support your progress between visits. We’ll also book any necessary follow-up appointments and provide information on what to expect as your body begins to respond to care.

Our Staff

Abbey
Reception

Hi, I’m Abbey! I’m part of the reception team here and love creating a warm, welcoming environment for everyone who visits the clinic. I pride myself on being organised, approachable, and supportive. I genuinely enjoy helping people and being part of a team that focuses on health and wellbeing. I’m studying to become a veterinary technician - a field I’m truly passionate about, with a particular interest in animal nutrition. In my spare time, I love being out in the countryside - soaking up the fresh air and working with cows, sheep, and horses. I enjoy spending time with my family and my little offsider, Maple, the long-haired dachshund.

Margaret
Reception

Hi I’m Margaret, I’ve always loved meeting new people and building connections, and this role allows me to do exactly that every day. One of the most rewarding parts of working alongside Dee and Felicity at Cracknell Chiropractic is seeing the real difference chiropractic care can make in people’s health and wellbeing. I have three daughters and six grandchildren who bring a lot of joy and energy into my life. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and staying active with my two dogs.
